Christmas Crafting
Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween! I had a grand old time at NekoCon helping out at my LARP group's table and seeing all the amazing costumes and fun panels that the con offered this year. The only trouble I had with my own costume was the wig! It was my first time using one and kept sliiiiiding back haha! All in all I'd call it a win though and now is the time for me to move on to crafting for other people. Holiday gifts are some of my favorite things to make, the anticipation of giving those carefully crafted and personalized items to the people I love is extremely motivating to me.
I know I've mentioned the pattern before, but the Autumn Breeze Bandana by Hayhay Crochet is such a quick one to crochet up and looks so pretty and delicate. I'm personally making a bunch in different colors and even different yarn weights to give to my sisters.
For my mom I've made this Primrose and Proper crochet scarf by Kirsten Holloway Designs. Very pretty, but as you can see I still need to weave in my ends.😉
This next one I don't have a pattern for and kinda just made up as I went along. I did reference a picture of something similar to these little cotton crochet hot pad houses, so I won't take credit, but aren't they so sweet?! You could crochet or line the back with an extra layer if you want them to be thicker, but I figured they would probably be fine under most hot dishes on the table, not so much for picking things up out of the oven though. They could also be used a dishcloths!
I'm currently working on another Musselburgh Hat as a gift as well. It will be done in two colors, 'cause what's the point of a double-sided hat if you don't make the sides different! It'll be Tan and green for this one, but I plan on doing a couple more if I have the time, in a bright almost turquoise blue and black, and a dark heather blue and gray.
And lastly, I picked up an old project I'd forgotten about. A sweater made from pink and purple squares in Big Twist acrylic yarn. Hopefully the colors I need will last me until Michael's has Big Twist back out again! This one I'm also kinda making up as I go along, so there is no pattern for it.
And that's it from me this week! Thanks for checking in!
Hope you have a lovely week!
Your Crafting Buddy,
Savvy
