 Hello world!

I’m Savvy, welcome to SavvyCrochets! 

In this blog I’m hoping to capture some of the everyday ups, downs, and tangles of a fiber artist. I’ll share my projects, ideas, and finished works here with you and maybe even throw in a pattern or tutorial or two while I’m at it.*wink* While this blog specifically calls out crochet in the name, I will be diving into various other arts such as embroidery, sewing, knitting, spinning, felting, and I’m sure even more as I learn and grow and discover more awesome crafts! 

Currently I work at an awesome small knitting shop in Virginia, but I also have a history working for Joann Fabrics (before they closed😭) and teaching a children’s crochet class from my  parents' home in Maryland. I have been crocheting for about thirteen years now, and knitting more consistently for around five years, though I still count myself as a “baby knitter.”

What else do I like to do? Well I love spending time gardening, something else I’m sure you’ll hear about here and there as this blog moves forward. I love reading fiction, mostly fantasy books, sometimes a little sci-fi, usually in audiobook form so I can keep my hands busy crafting. I also enjoy snuggling my miniature Goldendoodle Mr. Tumnus who is the cutest, sweetest boy in all the land and best crafting buddy.

I’m hoping to post here once per week, or perhaps every other week if my crafting time has been put on hold due to good old life events, but my goal is to be somewhat consistent. I’m looking forward to sharing with you and hope you enjoy reading!
