Little Ghostly Friends and Bavarian Stitch Blankets

I'm back! Last week was rough, y'all, I just didn't have it in me to do much writing or even crafting for that matter. While I continue to deal with my mental health, I hope you'll forgive me the week-long hiatus I took to get myself back together and enjoy my latest crafting updates.

I picked up my scrappy Bavarian stitch blanket again! I know I've messed up at least one row already, but I've decided I don't care to go back. It'll just add more interest when looking at it later, right? This week I refreshed myself on the stitch pattern again and am going to try my best to just move forward fudging a few stitches here and there until I get back to normal. I'm not following a specific pattern for this one, but if you search for examples of Bavarian stitch blankets, you will surely find a few examples with instructions on how to make your very own!

I've worked a few more inches on the body of the Costa Tank and have only an inch left before I return to the pattern for the next step! I'm very excited to start the eyelet section, as I've never done them before in knitting. I looooove the way the yarn is showing up for this tank!

The sweater for the hubs is coming along, I've moved on to the first sleeve, hopefully I won't get stuck here on sleeve island for too long and it will be finished up in time for the cooler weather that I hope will be coming!

While we're on the topic of cooler weather to come, I have been looking at a few ghost patterns to spruce up my Halloween decor. I'm not a particularly spooky person, so when I saw this sweet vintage-feeling Ghostly Garland by Stitches 'n' Scraps I loved it! It embraced the season, without giving up a sense of coziness and comfort with the granny square pattern for the lil ghost body. And to top it all off, it was a free pattern with a video tutorial! While the head was a little tricky to work, I appreciated learning how to do an invisible increase and decrease, something I had never come across before and had no idea existed! I'll definitely be trying it out on a few things in the future.

My husband got up to some crafting as well and built me a shelf for my Joann Fabrics baskets I bought from the store I was working for before the closure. I'm using it to store my overabundance of yarn, and I even kept the price tags so it feels like I'm shopping in my own little store when I go to find what I need from my stash. My husband did most of the heavy lifting building the shelf and installing the pegboard above it for my tools, but I did help with some sanding and painting. I think it looks so cool!

Hope you have a great week, thanks for stopping by!

Your Crafting Buddy,

Savvy
